Director of Key Accounts
SUMMARY:
The Director of Key Accounts is responsible for the acquisition and retention of multi-location local and regional accounts with annual sales volume of 5M+ in restaurant, specialty retail and home and garden verticals. They will also assist SVP in the acquisition and retention of select national accounts. The successful candidate will acquire new accounts through lead generation, relationship building and must demonstrate strong working knowledge of CRM, loyalty, direct, and/or database marketing. Demonstrated ability to analyze, prepare and present financial modeling.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Accountable for meeting and/or exceeding assigned sales objectives and monthly/quarterly revenue quotas. Manage sales funnel to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas.
Identify and pursue new retail merchant opportunities, develop and maintain relationships within these accounts from operational (Director of Marketing or CRM) to “C” level (CMO, CFO, CEO).
Partner with merchants through a consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value-added business solution that drives revenue.
Build and maintain accurate and up to date strategic account plans including data-base marketing optimization opportunities for retail client base.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to present in both small and large group settings. Utilize PowerPoint to develop presentations focused on sales solutions responding to the specific buying needs of the merchant.
Must be self motivated and self disciplined and provide prompt follow-up to all customer inquiries providing superior customer service on a day to day basis.
Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies and competitors.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
Minimum 5 - 7+ years demonstrated stable track record of success in consultative B to B sales role selling marketing services or database marketing products to large retail accounts.
Familiarity with local marketplace, companies and community in regional geography assigned preferred.
Experience with financial modeling, financial statements.
Analytical skills and the ability to view a current situation and see future opportunities for improvement.
Team player with ability to work within a matrix organization.
